Some artists are discovered through a song, while others only start to be truly understood once you know the story behind their music. To me, Geizy belongs to that second group. Behind the stage name is Geremy, a 23-year-old Costa Rican from Costa Rica's Southern Zone, who has turned his passion for music into a project that seeks much more than simply releasing songs. Geizy wants to build an identity, develop his own sound, and create an artistic universe that people can identify with.
Who is Geizy?
Geizy is an independent artist from Costa Rica whose music moves primarily between reggaeton, trap, R&B, and trap soul. His influences come from different artists and styles, but his intention is not to copy what already exists. He seeks to take those references, transform them, and turn them into something of his own. His goal is to reach a point where someone can hear a song and immediately recognize it as part of Geizy's universe.
That goal also explains why, for him, a song is not just audio. His project includes the intention to work on cover art, videos, colors, concepts, and different visual elements that help build a recognizable identity.
The story behind Geizy
To understand the artist, you also need to know Geremy. His relationship with music began when he was little, growing up in an environment where music was always playing. At different times, he was surrounded by bachata and salsa, and over time he stopped being just someone who enjoyed listening to music and became someone who wanted to create it.
His personal path, however, has not been easy. After high school, he went through a period of great uncertainty when he did not know exactly what to do with his life. He tried to find work, sent out résumés, and explored different academic opportunities, including studying English and information technology. Some experiences worked out, while others ended up becoming new doubts about his future.
Despite those setbacks, something recurs throughout his story: music remains. Even when other things do not work out, he returns to it.
A motivation that goes beyond fame
One of the most important parts of Geremy's story is his family, especially his grandparents. His grandfather Desiderio, a farmer and a man he considers one of the greatest examples of hard work and courage he has known, continues making an effort despite his age and various physical problems. His grandmother Obdulia has also been a fundamental source of support during difficult moments.
That is why, when Geremy talks about making a living from music, it does not seem to be only about achieving fame or money. There is a much more personal desire behind that goal: to be able to help the people who have stood by him and build a life in which his family's hard work can also someday turn into peace of mind.
There is a phrase from his own project that sums up that motivation very well: he wants Geremy to feel proud of Geizy. That idea turns the stage name into more than a name. Geizy represents the version of himself that he is trying to build.
Geizy's musical journey
The project already has a history that goes beyond a simple intention. Apple Music lists “Lost Girl,” released in 2021, among the first identifiable releases under the name GEIZY. Other works and collaborations within urban music appear later, including “Bellakita” with KNET and appearances connected to artists such as Lovuna and YOSEP RM. In 2026, Geizy continues to appear on new releases, including “Di Que Si,” by Lovuna featuring Geizy.
This shows that the musical project is already in motion. Geizy is not simply talking about starting an artistic career someday. There is already a history of songs, collaborations, and experiences that form part of his growth.
Music that also wants to tell stories
Geizy wants his music to have an emotional side. Talking about love, desire, and relationships is part of his approach, but he also wants to explore themes such as growing up, making mistakes, losing things, and getting back up.
Knowing his personal story, those ideas take on a different meaning. Behind seemingly universal concepts are real experiences of uncertainty, mistakes, frustration, family, dreams, and the search for a purpose.
That can become one of the most interesting elements of his artistic evolution: turning his personal experiences into songs that other people can identify with.
More than music: building a universe

One of the most striking aspects of his project is his interest in developing a visual identity. Geizy does not want to limit himself to releasing a song and immediately moving on to the next one. He wants each release to have a story, an aesthetic, and a feeling.
The cover art, videos, colors, and concepts are part of that vision. The intention is for the audience not only to hear a song, but to enter the universe the artist is building.
This is especially important for an independent artist, because identity does not depend solely on musical genre. Two artists can make reggaeton, but only one may succeed in making their music, image, and narrative immediately recognizable as their own.
Zona Gris and growing alongside other artists
Another important element in this process is Zona Gris, a space where Geizy has connected with people who also enjoy creating music and developing artistic projects. There, he can share songs, receive feedback and constructive criticism, and learn from other people who are traveling similar paths.
This part also reflects an important characteristic of his vision: building an identity of his own does not mean working entirely alone. Evolving requires collaboration, learning, different opinions, and people who help improve the creative process.
Geizy is still taking shape
Perhaps one of the most interesting things about his project is that the artist himself acknowledges he is still learning. He does not claim to present a completed success story. He knows he still has much to discover, both musically and personally.
That gives his project a very human element. Geizy is not telling the story of someone who has already reached the top, but of someone building his path and trying to discover how far he can go.
In that sense, his greatest goal does not seem to be simply to become a recognized artist in Costa Rica. He wants his music to cross borders, connect with people from different places, collaborate with artists he admires, and eventually allow him to make a living from something he began doing out of passion.
Why is Geizy worth keeping an eye on?
Because we are still watching the story being built. There is a musical journey that has already begun, an identity that continues to develop, and a personal story that can bring considerable depth to his music.
Geizy has the opportunity to turn his influences, experiences, and aspirations into something recognizable and his own. His story does not need to present him as an artist who has already achieved everything either. On the contrary, part of the interest lies precisely in watching him grow.
From Costa Rica, Geizy is trying to show that a project can start from zero and become, step by step, something of one's own. And behind it all is a motivation that goes beyond a viral song or a particular number of plays: building a career that Geremy can someday feel proud of.
